Items and equipment

Story Mode has upgrades and purchasable items

Official Modes and Features footage shows character levels, XP, and Momo's Bazaar, where Story Mode players can purchase character-linked upgrades. Steam achievements also refer to buying every Bazaar item. The reviewed evidence does not show a traditional equipment grid, random loot drops, rarity tiers, or equippable gear.

Treat these as Story Mode progression upgrades. Do not describe them as universal versus-mode gear or a full RPG loot system without stronger first-party evidence.
