No editorial S/A/B ranking is published as official meta. Use the interactive Tier Lab for your personal list. The Week 2 community/creator consensus snapshot (sample freeze as of 2026-08-02, page revised 2026-09-19, post–September 2 Patch 2.5 patch anchor) labels high-frequency discussion—not a balance patch and not a substitute for your lab board. Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped in Patch 2.5 on 2026-09-02, so the evidence gate can now accept a Ranked Mode 1.0 ruleset; it still publishes no Ranked tiers, placement counts, or season data, and rankings[] stay empty until a named method and sample pass the gate. The shipped ladder’s recorded mechanics are documented on /guides/ranked-mode/ and are still not used here as a balance conclusion. CEO 2026 offline samples may feed a named layer after citable results—never auto-loaded ranks.

Week 2 community & creator consensus snapshot

Unofficial sample only. Not Paramount, not a frame table, not Elemental Arena Lab’s editorial ranking. Media lists and creator videos disagree with each other; this table only flags high-frequency discussion so the /tier-list/ URL is not an empty methodology shell.

Lab vs snapshot vs editorial ranks: Tier Lab (above) = your private board in this browser. This snapshot = labeled high-frequency community/media talk. rankings[] (editorial site ranks) = still empty. Do not paste this table into the lab as “official meta.” Offline majors (see /competitive/ceo-2026/) are a separate methodology source once results can be cited—not auto-loaded ranks. Media letter labels (including low-band C-tier talk for some big-body characters) are sample tags, not a ban on personal Training.

Patch anchor: Post–September 2, 2026 Patch 2.5: Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped, Patch 2.5 lists an updated Zaheer move (exact move name not reproduced here) plus training-mode Flow blocking, and the same-day September Content Schedule names Spectator Mode, Public Lobbies, Ozai Reimagined, localization, and Story difficulty / Trials / trophy fixes for upcoming patches. The earlier July 29 and August 5–6 windows stay labeled as history. This page publishes no Ranked tiers, placements, or season structure.

Sample protocol: Qualitative high-frequency scan of early-week creator tier/difficulty videos and launch media S/A/B-style lists—not a counted ladder sample, not a tournament bracket, and not a claim that every outlet agrees. Sample language frozen as of 2026-08-02; page text revised 2026-09-15 for the Patch 2.5 / Ranked Mode 1.0 status flip and the September roadmap—without inventing new S–C letters. The 2026-09-19 pass only linked the new /guides/ranked-mode/ mechanics page from this URL; no sample row, letter, or as-of date changed.

Creator difficulty / early tier videosCreator · casual + execution discussion

High-view easiest/hardest and difficulty-tier formats; Week 1 tier videos; “ULTIMATE” / full-roster tier-list videos circulating in the first post-launch weeks.

Creator formats drive search language (“tier list,” “easiest,” “hardest,” “ultimate”). They are opinion samples, not measured Ranked ladder results.

Launch media full-list coverageMedia · launch editorial S–C style lists

Destructoid, Operation Sports, allthings.how launch-tier coverage; Pocket Tactics (noted around 2026-08-01); Sportskeeda launch-tier articles. Several publish concrete full S–C style boards competitors use for SERP coverage.

Outlets often publish complete letter ranks at launch. This site does not mirror those boards as truth—we only label high-frequency names so readers can compare methods.

editorial placeholder
Combo / character-select long-formCreator · execution & pick rates discussion

Azula and Aang combo routes; long character-select / beginner-oriented guide videos that repeatedly name early strong or high-execution picks.

Useful for practice questions and difficulty talk. Not a substitute for Training confirmation or a Ranked sample.

EventHubs standings + start.gg operator listing: Xcaliburbladez (Zaheer) 1st, SLAM|Doza (Korra) 2nd, Zane (Zaheer) 3rd, Mikeand1ke (Kyoshi) 4th; Azula ×3 and Katara in Top 8.

First citable large offline sample. Recorded while Ranked was still unshipped; Patch 2.5 shipped Ranked Mode 1.0 on 2026-09-02, after this event. Character labels only—no invented usage percentages and not auto-loaded into rankings[]. See /competitive/ceo-2026/.

High-frequency discussion focus

Not an official balance table. Rows link to fighter pages with practice goals (Azula includes a multi-phase Training path).

Editorial rankings[] stay empty until the evidence gate above is met. This snapshot freezes sample language as of 2026-08-02 so searchers get a labeled map instead of a blank board. The patch anchor is now the September 2, 2026 Patch 2.5 build (Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped); the 2026-09-15 revision records that ship plus the September roadmap, and the 2026-09-19 pass links the /guides/ranked-mode/ mechanics page and keeps rankings[] empty. Competitors may publish full S–C lists without methods, and some still describe Ranked as unavailable; we publish method + sample labels + current Ranked status instead. Now that Ranked is live, the next revision either adds a Ranked-sampled layer with a named method and as-of date, or keeps an explicit casual/offline-only label—never invented bands or placement counts.

Methodology · method-v1-week2-community-2026-09-15 · updated 2026-09-19

Method-first tier page — Ranked Mode 1.0 has shipped; samples still labeled, not locked as meta

  1. 01Name the game patch or build (for example a dated Steam news title such as Patch 2.5, 2026-09-02).
  2. 02Publish the rating method and sample basis (who played, how many sets, what rules).
  3. 03Separate community opinion and creator hot takes from measured results.
  4. 04Add a visible last-updated date on the published ranking block.
  5. 05Archive prior versions instead of silently rewriting placements.
  6. 06State whether Ranked Mode 1.0 results are included—or that the list is casual / offline only—and name the Ranked build if they are.

What people mean by “Avatar Legends tier list”

Search demand clusters around “avatar legends tier list,” “fighting game tier list,” and “character tier list.” Players want a day-one answer to who is strong. Fighting games punish that impulse: trailer footage, beta impressions, and single tournament clips are not the same as a patch-dated, method-named ranking.

This site’s tier page is the landing URL for that intent. The interactive board lets you rank the 12 launch slots locally. Editorial S/A/B ranks stay unpublished; the community consensus table is a labeled sample snapshot only—deliberately not a mirrored Pocket Tactics / Operation Sports style full board presented as truth. If a SERP competitor shows a complete S–C board, compare methods: our differentiation is a named patch anchor (now Patch 2.5, 2026-09-02), current Ranked status, and empty rankings[] until evidence passes.

How the Tier Lab works (your list, not ours)

Click a fighter to cycle Unranked → S → A → B → pool. Placements save in this browser only (local storage). Reset clears the board. Nothing on the board is claimed as an official or site-wide meta ranking.

Use the lab after you lab characters in Training and after you sample online or offline sets—not after one viral clip. The community snapshot below is not auto-loaded into the lab.

Lab vs community snapshot vs editorial ranks

Three layers stay separate: (1) Tier Lab — private browser placements; (2) Week 2 community/creator consensus — high-frequency discussion with named sample types and a frozen as-of date; (3) rankings[] — empty until patch + method + sample rules pass the evidence gate.

If a SERP competitor shows a complete S–C list without Ranked samples or patch labels, treat it as launch editorial opinion. Our differentiation is method transparency, not louder letter grades.

What would unlock an editorial ranking

A published ranking on this page will always name: (1) the patch or Steam news build it belongs to (Patch 2.5, 2026-09-02, is the current anchor), (2) the ruleset (casual online, offline tournament, or Ranked Mode 1.0), (3) whether supports are free-choice or restricted, and (4) whether Avatar State variants are separate slots.

Until then, treat YouTube “broken” lists and TikTok hot takes as community signals—useful for questions, not as copy-paste placements. The Week 2 snapshot above is how we surface those signals without pretending they are lab results. Offline majors can later feed a named sample layer—see /competitive/ceo-2026/—without inventing odds or Top 8 before results exist.

Ranked mode status (why meta is still incomplete)

Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped in Patch 2.5 on 2026-09-02. The launch newsletter had listed Ranked, lobbies, and spectator mode as prioritized upcoming features; the July 29, 2026 Steam update shipped only keyboard remapping, the Samurai Appa support skin, Deluxe colors, and fixes, and the recorded August 5–6, 2026 window added controller-support disclosures plus Replay Takeover and multi-character adjustments. Patch 2.5 is the note that finally shipped the ladder.

The same September 2 window carries the official September Content Schedule, which names Spectator Mode, Public Lobbies, Ozai Reimagined, localization, and Story difficulty / Trials / trophy fixes for upcoming patches. Lobbies and spectator mode are therefore still roadmap items, not live features.

A live ladder on its own does not produce a ranking. Without a named sample of sets, a stated ruleset, and a method, any “global tier list” would still be cosplay—so rankings[] remain empty. This page will add a Ranked-sampled layer only when it can name the build (Patch 2.5 or later), the ruleset, the sample, and an as-of date. No Ranked tiers, placement counts, or season structure are published here.

Offline majors after CEO (not auto-loaded ranks)

CEO 2026 (August 14–16, Orlando) is now a filled, named offline sample on /competitive/ceo-2026/. As of 2026-08-18: Xcaliburbladez (Zaheer) over SLAM|Doza (Korra) after a grand-finals reset; Zane (Zaheer) 3rd; Mikeand1ke (Kyoshi) 4th; Katara and three Azula players in the rest of Top 8. Sources: EventHubs standings + start.gg operator listing.

That sample does not auto-load rankings[]. Use it to pick Training questions (Zaheer / Korra / Kyoshi / Azula / Katara), not to paste an S–C board. The official Pro-Bending Circuit teaser is a separate watch page; the ladder itself shipped later, in Patch 2.5 on 2026-09-02.

Better questions than “who is S-tier?”

Which fighter’s Flow options match your movement habits? Which supports are verified for your character? Can you convert in Combo Trials before you chase matchup charts?

Start with the beginner guide (learning-surface bands) and combos guide (patch-dated Training paths for Azula, Toph, Zaheer, Aang, Kyoshi), then return here to record your own board after real sets. Media low-band labels (for example C-tier talk on some big-body characters) are not a ban on Training.

Tier list FAQ

Common questions

Is there an official Avatar Legends tier list?

No official publisher S/A/B list is mirrored here. Community and creator lists exist; the Week 2 snapshot labels high-frequency discussion only—it is not treated as objective placement.

Is Ranked mode live for tier samples?

Yes—Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped in Patch 2.5 on 2026-09-02. That makes a Ranked ruleset eligible under the evidence gate above, but this page still publishes no editorial ranks: rankings[] stay empty until a named method, a named sample, and an as-of date are published together. No Ranked tiers, placement counts, or season structure are invented here.

Is the community snapshot the same as the Tier Lab?

No. The Tier Lab is your private board. The Week 2 snapshot is a labeled sample of media/creator talk with an as-of date and sample types. Editorial rankings stay empty until evidence gates pass. Sample letter labels (including low-band C-tier talk) are not personal bans on lab work.

Why not publish a full S–C list like other sites?

Because full letter boards without a named patch, method, and sample rules pretend a certainty no one has earned. We publish method + high-frequency labels + current Ranked status instead of copying competitor S–C tables.

Why is there no locked S/A/B ranking?

Because meta without a named sample and method is noise. The interactive lab and the community sample table are available; editorial ranks wait for evidence gates. Patch 2.5 (2026-09-02) is the current patch anchor—not a free pass to invent letters.

When will rankings go live?

After a build can be named, a method is published, and results can be separated from trailer/clip opinions. Ranked Mode 1.0 (Patch 2.5) is now available as a ruleset, and CEO 2026 is a named offline sample—neither auto-fills rankings[]. Check the updates log for the next methodology revision.

Does Ranked affect the tier list?

It can now be used as a ruleset. Ranked Mode 1.0 shipped in Patch 2.5 on 2026-09-02, so a future published ranking may cite Ranked sets—provided it also names the build, the sample, and the method. Until then, rankings[] stay empty and no Ranked tiers or placements are invented here.

Will CEO 2026 results become the tier list?

No. CEO 2026 is now a named offline sample (Zaheer champion, Korra second) under the evidence gate—see /competitive/ceo-2026/. rankings[] stay empty. Your personal Tier Lab stays private unless you change it.

Why are Azula, Korra, Toph, and Aang highlighted?

They appear most often in early-week media and creator high-band or high-execution discussion. Official kit notes support why players talk about traps/pressure (Azula), multi-element control (Korra), grounded armor pressure (Toph), and air mobility/combos (Aang)—without converting talk into official ranks.
